How has this held up for you? I’ve read that slate in a shower may not be such a great idea, sealants don’t work? and residue comes off stones as they break down from the water. What has your experience been?

I love how it looks, nice design & installation, I like the river rock surround too. I was thinking of doing something similar in my shower.

This shower has held up as far I know, just fine.
I did however recommend to the person I built it for, to once a year scrub the shower down really well with a good shower cleaner. Then apply a new coat of a tile cleaner and sealer. I also recommend using Rainx on the walls and shower doors, after the tile cleaner & sealer has set. The Rainx works well to help the water bead up and roll down the surfaces. It is the same Rainx I use on my windshield on my truck. For more info: Slate in Bathrooms
